Legacy
My granddaughters sleep
on their twin z pillow
Hands askew
Open to the world
A sigh
A flutter of eyelids
A turn of a head
Each breath
fills me with such joy
Each day with them a gift
The pains that come with aging
subside as I hold, rock
breathe in, feed babies
I think of you, Carl
I sent you photos, poems
Beautiful you replied
Once you held babies too
Your children
grandchildren
How you have loved them
caressed them with poems
Heartfelt
Your legacy
You are in them
Always
I think of you, Carl
Ache for the unwritten poems
